Rex Varner is an independent consultant working with organizations on strategy and project execution. He has spent his career developing and implementing solutions for complex companies, non-profits, and the public sector. In his most recent role he was the COO of the Rodel Foundation. Prior to that, he built his expertise as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, Corporate Executive Board, Bellwether Education Partners, and Accenture. Rex also served as the Vice President for Strategy and Administration at Teach For America.
In the education sector his clients have included foundations, state education agencies, leading education advocacy organizations, charter management organizations, and education policy and service providers. His experience in the private sector has focused on financial services with a specialization in technology and operations in the US and globally.
Rex earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William & Mary with a B.A in Economics. He is also a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Mali '93-'95).
